Google Humor
I’m STILL sick. It sucks.
To help cheer me up I go to the internet for some geek humor and I’m using my latest find to tell you an importunates message about class.
So please read this and then click on the link below for a chuckle…
IMPORTANT NOTE about the IMPORTANT NOTE (2/29): I realized after the fact that it is unfair for me to expect students to come on an off day to take the test. Because of this I will be placing test 1 in the testing center at all three campuses. You will have 1 week (3/3 to 3/10) to take the test at your convenience. I’m so sorry for the confusion and trouble. As of today, Friday I am still not 100% and had to take another sick day. I hope you understand. I will still be in class on Monday to give the lecture we missed this passed week. I will also be grading and providing feedback for the bio labs.
To make an appointment at the testing centers please visit the testing centers website.
Ok, ready for the chuckle?
What if Google had to design their user interface for Google?
See you guys Monday. Post any questions in the comments.

New to Blogging?
I’ve noticed some hesitation from those of you not familiar with blogs. That’s OK! I understand it’s a new mode of communication that you may not yet be familiar with. This page does a great job of giving a very brief explanation.
Blogger.com says:
“A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking-news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts. Memos to the world.”
WordPress.com says:
“A blog is a particular type of web site, where articles (or “posts” or “entries”) are listed in reverse-chronological order (the most recent articles at the top).
Blogs are usually published by individuals as a kind of diary, journal, magazine, or independent journalism. There are many millions of active blogs on the internet, written by millions of people about millions of topics.”
Roni say: ;~P
“A blog is a way for us to communicate outside of class. It gives us a medium to share ideas, thoughts, examples, articles, tutorials or anything else we find helpful to our studies in class. It fosters a sense of community and collaboration among us while allowing the individual student to control his or her own interest in the subject matter. “
Hope that helps and PLEASE post any questions about the class blog in the comments!

Does Telling Someone to “Click Here” Actually Matter?
Does Telling Someone to “Click Here” Actually Matter? points out that that sometimes you really should use “Click Here.” I have always tried not to use it, but maybe I will have to rethink that ideal.

Blog Updates
Hi All! The blog is going strong! It’s nice to see a lot of action and we are already getting a good collection of links and examples! A few notes…
- When you go to post you will only be able to save not publish. I actually am the only on with rights to publish to the blog.
- PLEASE give more info then.. “I found this link”. I’ll let them slide this week but I won’t accept posts like that anymore. Give a litte more info about the link, why should be visit it, why is it cool? Did it help you understand something? How did you find it? Think of things like that.
All that being said I’d like to post another link. This one about blogging!
Should we be teaching people how to blog? and education. I wonder if I should be teaching you this blog stuff anyways?
